Maxi Season

It's the beginning of a new week, but this time we have the 4th of July to look forward to. YESSSS, four-day work week!!

We had no plans besides hanging out this weekend and possibly napping, and Saturday morning I literally slept until 11 AM. To be fair, I worked until 1 AM. I love working evening shift most of the time, but once a month I have to work a couple hours late.

We had a hot, sunny day today, but I felt nice and breezy in this maxi dress. I posted before when I bought it and a few other things from Forever 21, so I wanted to show how the fit turned out. I also don't have to wear a bra with backless dresses, mega bonusss!! As Zooey Deschanel says, no one likes boob jail.

As you can see, Boba escaped to sneak into the background of my photos. I take him out on a leash sometimes to "walk," but mostly he just chews on grass and reacts with absolute terror to garbage trucks.
I just made these vegan almond butter snickerdoodles, so I'm going to stuff a few in my mouth, and I'll update you on if they are good or not. I can already tell..we're going to need more cookies. If you make the recipe, I recommend doubling it - I probably got 12-13 cookies. They smell so so yummy, though.

Boba Fett Is Over It

It's almost July, and I have no idea how that happened. At least next weekend is a three-day weekend, woooohooo!

I now have a button on my sidebar, so that's a thing. It took me much finessing to figure out how to do it, but now I can add blogs to my sidebar that are run by the awesomest ladies. Let's get on with the Friday Favorites...

Favorite Photo:
My cat is so done with me as I try to take Photobooth pics of us.
Favorite Food:
I plan on trying this recipe from The Minimalist Baker this weekend. She has the best vegan recipes!! Obviously, you can still eat them even if you are not vegan. I loooove french toast on chewy sourdough bread.
Favorite Dog:
This little howling Frenchie...he's adorable.
Source Unknown
Favorite Health/Beauty Item:
I started using pore strips again, and I have a slight addiction. If you want to see something disgusting/fascinating, watch this extreme close-up video of a pore strip removing black heads. Or don't...don't say I didn't warn you.
Favorite Movie:
I got a message in my email today announcing a new Capitol TV Broadcast - President Snow's Panem Address: Together as One. It makes me so pumped about the new movie. How disturbing does Snow look all in white? The second movie was so good, I immediately reread the whole Hunger Games series in a few days.

I will probably not cry...that much.
Just kidding, there are going to be gross tears everywhere.
We just have to wait till November, guys...

Robot Dinosaurs and Peplum Tops

Here we go, it's time to confess some things I've pretended not to do but definitely, for sure did:

SLEEP: My weekend did not get a post this week, because all I did was work and fall asleep at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. Three hours of sleep and I'm out, daylight or no daylight. I was falling asleep watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (don't worry, we finished it later and it was adorable), and Greg told me it was bedtime and dragged my butt to bed.

SHOPPING: As soon as I saw that J Crew Factory was having an extra 40% off clearance sale, it was like I blacked out and woke up with an order confirmation in my inbox. But I found this lovely peplum top, plus about seven other things.
FOOD: I usually eat heart-healthy Honey Nut Cheerios or Trader Joe's organic cereal when I come home at night, but for the past week, I've been eating Lucky Charms, and have enjoyed every minute of it.

BUNNY WATCHING: I was sitting in my car outside work the other night, and an adorable bunny rabbit sat right outside my door. I tried to take a picture, and of course it ran away. Bunny picture taking fail. We met but once, bunny, but I will not forget you, may we meet again.
MOVIES: There are a ton of movies coming out or already out that I want to see this summer, and I even want to see Transformers: Age of Extinction. I am not a fan of any of the previous movies, but for some reason I have hope in this one. I think Marky Mark can make anything better.
I'm linking up with Kathy today for Humpday Confessions! Be sure to join in, I love reading everyone else's confessions.

Half Pants & Favorites

I haven't stopped in for blogging a lot this week, because work has been crazy hectic!! This was our fabulous Peak Week, in which I worked on Saturday and came in early almost everyday. And it's not even over yet. I work this weekend at my other job - I've mentioned before that Greg and I are both in the Air National Guard. Prepared to be pooped.

As in, I texted Greg a picture of myself with half-pants on, saying, "I haven't even completely put on pants yet." TMI, don't care.. sometimes the effort of putting on pants is just exhausting and you have to lay down for a bit.

Favorite Dog:
Because it's freakin' adorable, and I want a little French Bulldog to play outside with. Does anyone have a puppy? I will babysit it for free.

Favorite Photo:
My lovely girl, Luna. It also reminds me of how hilarious she looks from underneath the glass table.

Favorite Fashion:
Summer sales...everywhere!! I have some Old Navy cash to spend - $10 off $25, which is a pretty sweet deal.

Francesca's is having a BOGO 1/2 off clothing sale + a Summer sale.

I have seen a lot of ladies wearing midi skirts, lately, and they look so stylish and feminine.
Asos has a huge selection, like this one seen above.

Favorite Funnies:
You know, just being cute with your significant other...
This is why we have to keep the treats in the kitchen cabinet now. We came home one day to find her like this, but with treats.. Treats everywhere, and a very fat cat.
More adorable than funny, but have you ever seen a baby camel?

The Struggle of the Pants

I think I need a weekend from my weekend. I wish work gave everyone an extra week of vacation for the purpose of staying home and doing absolutely nothing.
I worked on Saturday, because it's our peak period, which means they need extra help. Today, I received a text to come in early, but I already had plans to do some retail therapy before that. Which leads me to the pants struggle.

Buying pants should be simple. See style of pants you like in color you like, buy pants. Alas, no. Hunting for pants is like searching for the golden freaking magic chicken for me.

After ripping part of the seams on the legs of two of my ponte pants recently, I decided to do some leisurely shopping today. The reason I've ripped the seams on the pants is that I am constantly pulling them up, because I didn't notice when I bought them that they don't have any belt loops!! Humongous problem, because the legs are just right, but the waist is way too big and I have to safety pin it.

I always have the same problem with pants - huge waist but the legs fit. Is there a magic secret for buying pants?? Here is all I can think while I shop for pants:

'Ooh, these are perfect! How much are th....$169.00??? Oh shit, here comes the saleswoman to ask if you need help. Pretend you can afford them but aren't interested.'

'These fit great.' *turns around* 'Mom butt.'

'Which size should I get? I'll just try 3 different ones.'

'Great, so I can possibly wear anywhere between 3 sizes depending on the brand.'

'IT'S STUCK ON MY LEG!!! HELP. please why. it's happening.' *falls off sitty stool*

I finally found a pair at Old Navy, today. They are similar to this pair with a little more distressed look. I wore them all day and enjoyed the summery style so hopefully I still like them in the next few days.
But seriously, why is pants shopping so complicated? So far, Old Navy is my favorite because they have a few different styles for body types. Usually, I go for the Diva, but these were on sale in Rockstar.

Is it just me? Do you ever have pants struggles?

Hints/tips....any favorite brand?

Favorites - Stalker Cats

I am so happy..because it's finally Friday!! Work yesterday was crazy..I'm already dealing with PMS, so my brain was not ready for the ridiculous amount of stuff to get done. Friday will help me de-clutter my brain and hopefully relax! I love sharing some of my favorites...

Cat Pics:
Have you ever felt...watched.. while you were doing the dishes?
It's a fun game we play, where she pretends to be super creepy and stalk me while I do dishes.... I hope it's a game.

Then my boy thinks he can just jump in the sink and "MROWW" at me to play with him. Because obviously, the sink was in the way of playing.
Food:
Today is burrito bowl day. One of my favorite times of the day is the time I get to down a bowl full of rice and guacamole.
Moment:
This was taken at the very last obstacle of our Spartan Race. Greg looks like a freakin' ninja, haha. I am thinking, "WOO! I didn't break anything!!"

Cute:
I want to take a little piggy home! So adorable. If you want to be overwhelmed with cuteness, here are some more pigs doing pig things.

Fashion:
I ordered this maxi dress, because I am in love with the back. I hope it looks as good in person, I can't wait for my order to arrive! This weekend, my goal is to find a pair of wedges to pair with dresses and shorts for the summer.

Enjoy your weekend, see you next week. I won't judge, whatever you do. This is exactly what I have planned, except with less people and more food.

I am linking up with Amanda of Meet @ the Barre for Friday Favorites. Be sure to visit her 'cause she's awesome, and maybe join in the party.

Clean ALL The Things

I have been waiting to get some things off my chest, so let's get into some Humpday Confessions...
I like most of my coworkers, but some of them drive me crazy. I work evening shift, so I have to wait for the day shift to leave before I can take over our desk, and they left late today. I was already feeling inexplicably angry because my hormones do what they want, but then when I get to my desk, there are pen marks all over it. I want to ask this guy, "You are a full grown adult, how the hell do you write all over the desk every day????" I always have wet wipes at work so I can wipe their mess down.

I am not that much of a neat freak at home, but at work, I keep it as clean as possible. I hate when other people leave a mess behind, or leave everything disorganized. I like my work shit to be organized!! It would be nice if they could please not leave behind a trail of destruction...

Speaking of hormones, we watched Les Miserables over the weekend, and during the movie I was fine, but after it ended and Greg left the room..
So after bawling for 10 seconds, I was fine again. Thank you, body.

Les Miserables was good, but not my favorite kind of movie. There was a LOT of singing. I know, it's a musical, and I like some musicals. But I really can't run around my house singing Les Miserables songs without sounding a little ominous. Not like that time we watched Footloose. Yep, you can bet my husband had to deal with a lot of singing after that one.

I suck at saving money this month. After some unexpected expenses, I am in need of saving! But I am also in need of checking Forever 21's new arrival page daily.

Watch Me Fall Off of Things

You know that show, Wipeout? Now I am fully aware of why they call it that. Greg and I went to the ROC Race aka Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge this weekend, and we had so much fun. I also fell on my butt a lot.
Greg took his GoPro with him, so we got lots of good video, and I wanted to share some pics of my wipeout expertise.

Jump Balls
More like Jump Ball, because I didn't see anyone make it past one. So much harder than it looks!! I will keep making fun of those people on Wipeout, but I feel for them. I did jump on the first ball, but after that I flew diagonally and landed like a demented flying squirrel on the ground.

Wrecking Ball
The balls just kept coming back! I thought I was gonna be smooth and duck the first one, but then the other came, then the other one, and then the guy yelled, "No crawling!!" I couldn't get away from the balls, so I jumped in.

Cool Runnings
Not gonna lie, I was so scared! I busted my butt cheek on the first water slide we went on, but luckily this one was much deeper. Somehow I ended up backwards?? The tube felt like it was flying a million miles an hour.

World's Largest Inflatable Water Slide
But not as scary as the view from the world's largest inflatable slide!!! Notice how much Greg is enjoying the ride, with arms up and eyes open, and I am flying down it like a paralyzed cat in a bathtub. We both have our own approaches. His is the more carefree approach, and mine is the, "What have I done? Is that me screaming???" approach.

Would you go on this slide??
Are you into adventurous sports?
What extreme adventure would you try?

Friday Favorites - Summertime

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm sharing some of my favorite ways to survive the summer, even though it technically hasn't started yet, because I am a snow-colored person and in danger of catching fire just stepping outside my door everyday.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend with some welcome company. Obviously, my cats love hanging out together.

Food:
Sno cones / water ice
They were always called sno cones when I lived in the South, but in the Northeast, they seem to call it water ice. It's my favorite summer food, because when it's hot, I start craving them like crazy. Especially with mixed flavors, like coconut, cherry, and vanilla - SO delicious!!

Shoes:
I went to Target this week and found these sandals buy one get one 1/2 off. The Gladiator sandals are similar to these Madewell sandals I've been wanting, but have been too cheap to buy. I hope these will see a lot of time outside this summer.

TV Show:
I started watching Orange is the New Black, and I love this show. I don't know why I thought I would not be into it, but it is so different than I was expecting. It is not just a comedy; I am all up into this drama.

Workout Find:
My Old Navy capris are my favorite thing to work out in, because they are so tough, they survived the Spartan Race with no rips or tears. They are also stretchy for all the weird squats I do. I have them in black, and recently bought the blue.

Moment:
I laugh everytime I read this. I can't stop picturing it.
